PINK SEQUINED DRESS

H&M Conscious Dress £149.99

This dress is everything! BUT it has sold out in my size. One million crying emojis. Plus I have no where fancy to wear it anyway. Poor me.

GINGHAM TROUSERS

Wearing: American Apparel Body | Topshop Trousers | Converse Trainers @ Schuh

I'm a little in love with gingham. I may have invested too much into this SS17 trend but I can"t help myself. I think I have a problem. The high street is full of fabulous pieces and so far I have a pair of shorts, a jumpsuit, a playsuit and these must have trousers. Oh and I have my eye on a skirt too!  I bought these trousers a couple of months ago when they first hit Topshop and I've been wearing them on my shoots ever since. They will never replace my beloved dungarees (my styling uniform) but they are definitely up there with my grab and go looks.

MY GO-TO FLORAL SHIRT

Wearing: New Look Jeans | Zara Shirt | Gucci Loafers Similar

This is my go to shirt at the moment. It literally brightens my day! You know when you put something on and it makes you feel good? Well this is doing that for me. Since taking this photo I've been wearing it a lot with my ASOS ripped mom jeans, gucci belt, black high top converse and vintage leather biker jacket. I think I prefer that look so I'll post another photo soon and you can decide.
Please excuse my grubby loafers. I got them when I was about 19 years old and I used to wear them going out out! I think it's about time I got them cleaned. Just shows though that you should never throw anything away. I'm loving Gucci's massive comeback and so are my feet.

FRILLY BOTTOM

Wearing: ASOS Jeans  | Topshop T-Shirt Similar | Kurt Geiger Shoes Similar

Please excuse the rather large image of my bottom but I wanted you to see the frilly jeans I've just bought from ASOS. I love them! I have a bit of a thing for denim. I once styled B*Witched in their trademark head to toe denim using all my own clothes. Anyway these jeans are my latest purchase. They are the same slim mom style from ASOS that I've been wearing recently but instead of the rips at the knees they have these cute ruffles on the bottom. Cute!

SEQUINNED SENSATION

Wearing: Free People T-Shirt  | Miss Selfridge Jeans Similar | ASOS Jacket | Gold Goose Deluxe Brand Trainers

I was prepping a shoot that required kimonos when I came across this sequinned sensation at ASOS. It wasn't right for my shoot but is sooo right for me. I have absolutely no where special to wear it but who cares when it's this awesome! I'll probably just wear it while styling up my next shoot. Not the most practical but definitely the most pretty of purchases.

OBSESSED WITH EMBROIDERY

Wearing: hm Top similar  | Converse Trainers @ Schuh | New Look Jeans | Gucci Belt | Free People Jacket similar

I bought this Free People jacket from ASOS last year. It was quite expensive but I had just had Dolly so I thought I deserved it! I'm so glad I did. It was such a good investment. I love it and it still looks brand new. There's loads of embroidery on the high street at the moment but this is still my favourite piece. I've worn it here with my new mom jeans from New Look. Great colour for summer with no rips which keeps the look nice and clean.

NEW FAVOURITE TOP

Wearing: Next Top  | Mango Boots (still available @ASOS)  | ASOS Jeans

I was in Next the other day and I spotted this embroidered top as I was leaving. I just had to have it. It comes in blue too but the red was my favourite. I'm also loving these boots that I bought in the sale. They are so comfortable and the heel is the perfect height for running around after Dolly.

NEW SHOES ALERT!

I forgot to mention on my previous post that half way through my day of prepping on Oxford Street I realised that I hadn't totally worn in my pink converse resulting in absolute agony. Ouch! So obviously I was forced to buy a new pair of shoes. I've had my eye on these leopard print heels from River Island for a while now. Block heel with a height just right for pushing a pram and leopard print which goes with pretty much anything making them the perfect pair. I love them and they are sooo comfortable.

OOTD - EMBROIDERED DENIM JACKET

Wearing: Next Denim Jacket similar | Vintage Leather Pencil Skirt similar  | Converse @ Office Trainers | Free People T-Shirt | Self Portrait Le Specs Edition Five Sunglasses

I saw this awesome embroidered jacket on next.co.uk when I was prepping a shoot months ago so of course I snapped it up. It was quite pricey for a denim jacket so I ummed and ahhed about sending it back for a while. As you can see by the above photo I'm delighted I didn't. What a gem and worth every penny!

OOTD - GIRL POWER

Wearing: Target T.Shirt | New Look skirt similar  | Converse Trainers | Retro Super Future Sunglasses

I popped to Target when I was in Florida to buy a steamer for my shoot and I couldn't resist this GIRL POWER T-Shirt. Total bargain, great fit and really soft. What's not to love?
Warning: Don't wear a pencil skirt to the park. You can't walk, bend, sit or play.

EVE LOM

I know, I know, this Eve Lom cleanser has been around forever but I wanted to remind those of you like me who had forgotten about this genius product.

I needed a cleanser that removes make up (even mascara), exfoliates and keeps my skin moisturised. Time is of the essence these days so something that can do all of this at the same time is perfect for me. I was reminded of Eve Lom when I saw it in the mag on my flight back from Cape Town recently. Since using this pot of balm cleanser with the muslin (that comes with it) my skin feels so much better and I'm not waking up with panda eyes anymore. Winning!

OOTD - BRETON TOP AND LEOPARD PRINT

Wearing: J. Crew Top (similar below)  | H&M Jeans Similar  | Charlotte Olympia Shoes similar

When in doubt I reach for a breton top and that's exactly what I did this morning. I found this one hiding at the bottom on my ironing basket. Well, I say ironing but what I really mean is steaming. Steaming is the way forward folks. It's from J. Crew and I had forgotten all about it. It seems I have a bit of a thing for a Breton top. I own quite a lot and I can't stop buying them. Next on my list is this one from J. Crew @ net-a-porter

So pretty and no, not the same at the one I am wearing!

LUST LIST - STATEMENT SLIDERS

In the days before Dolly I would have ignored the fact that I've just bought those fabulous leopard print Adidas sliders and I'd have bought these sequinned sensations too.

OOTD - THE ULTIMATE TEE (and super cool sliders)

I've always been obsessed with finding the perfect tee. You know, that elusive one that goes with anything and manages to look cool but effortless? Well after a life long search I’ve finally found it courtesy of Free People (thank you, thank you, thank you!).
The We The Free Free Fallin Tee is soft, lightweight and hangs perfectly, making it super flattering. It’s already one of my spring/summer essentials and I love it so much I had to buy it in white and grey.
P.S. Fashion fairies, if you’re listening, please can you bring it out in black too? Thanks. Bx

Free People We The Free Free Fallin Tee

I wore it the other day with these Adidas Sliders and I posted the below pic on insta which got so many likes that I thought I'd share it here too. I'm a sucker for anything leopard print and I'm loving these bad boys!

OOTD - PINK SWEATSHIRT

I was lucky enough to go to Disneyworld for work recently and while I was there I did some shopping at Disney Springs. If you ever get the chance to go you should, it's amazing! While I was there I popped into Zara and saw this gorge pink puffed sleeved sweatshirt. Yes, I went all the way to Disneyworld and brought something back from Zara but I couldn't resist.

Wearing: Converse @Office Trainers  | ASOS Jeans | Zara Sweatshirt | Le Specs @Selfridges Sunglasses

While putting this post together I came across this Frilled Midi Dress from Zara. They teamed the sweatshirt with it. I personally wouldn't but I LOVE the dress. Unfortunately I have no where to wear it to but it's very pretty so I thought I'd share it with you.

WHAT I BOUGHT IN ZARA

I popped into Zara this week but had to be quick because I had Dolls with me. I bought this very versatile white frill shirt. It can be worn over jeans (to hide all the bits you want to hide) or tucked into high waisted shorts, jeans, a skirt. A great investment. See how sensible I am these days? I've worn it already and love it so it was definitely a good buy.

Zara Shirt

I then spotted this dress with pompom sleeves and bought it for my holiday to Ibiza. I thought it would look cool with a pair of gold or bronze flat sandals but when I got it home I wasn't convinced it worked as well as I thought so I think I'll be taking it back. You can't really tell from the photo but there is a gold striped lining that you can faintly see through the mesh material meaning it's actually nicer in real life.

Zara Dress

I tried on this fabulous jumpsuit but it didn't suit my shape. I have too much hips and bum for this but I love love love the print and was gutted that it didn't suit me.

Zara Jumpsuit

Finally I tried this embroidered beauty. I almost bought it but Mrs Sensible decided I had too many similar things already (who am I?)

DOLLY'S SWIMWEAR

Sings: We're all going on a summer holiday, no more working for a week or two...

We're off to Ibiza this summer which is our favourite place in the entire world and I'm very excited about it. This will be Dolly's second time in Ibiza. We took her when she was only 4 months old. I've started to prep her Ibiza wardrobe already and instead of going crazy and buying everything in sight (like I did last year) I'm being sensible and have bought just two swimwear items. I must admit it was a difficult task because M&S have the cutest of cute items in stock.

M&S Peacock Swimsuit

M&S 2 Piece Printed Swim Outfit

M&S Pom Pom Frill Swimsuit

This is the one that got away...I found it hard to decide between the Peacock Swimsuit and this Pom Pom Frill one. The Peacock won but I'm still thinking about this...

NAME CHANGE

While Dolly Sleeps was originally called What The Stylist Wore and was supposed to be a fashion blog based on my wardrobe. In reality it was a blog that patiently waited for me to pay it some attention while I was busy learning how to be a mum and juggling my job as a fashion and celebrity stylist.

Fast forward a year or so and here I am AGAIN. The name change is a hashtag I've used on social media since Dolly was born. #whiledollysleeps simply means this is something I can do while Dolly is sleeping because let's face it it's hard to do anything for myself while she's awake!

Before Dolly I shopped. A LOT. These days I don't have the time or the income (childcare grrr) or the amount of fabulous places to go to. Don't get me wrong our regular trips to Waitrose, the park and playdates are great but don't really require the latest on trend must have. Dungarees and converse is my mum uniform of choice and it works pretty well. This doesn't mean I don't treat myself from time to time and I definitely obsess over the things I would have bought if I hadn't become so sensible. While Dolly Sleeps is about the things I buy and the things I would have bought before Dolly.
